About Francisco
I have completed the Classical Piano studies in Conservatório D. Dinis (Music Academy in Lisbon), I have a Bachelor’s degree in Composition and Music Theory (Porto Music Conservatory), I’ve completed the Jazz Course at the Hot Club Portugal School, and I am currently attending the Bachelor Degree in Jazz Piano at the Danish National Academy of Music (Syddansk Musikkonservatorium) in Odense. I’ve also played in a Jazz Big Band in Lisbon (BBJ) and played keyboards for two Portuguese pop singers (Marta Lima and Gonçalo e Pronto).
About the lessons
I try to ensure that the classes meet the student’s expectations, and therefore the teaching method varies according to the interests and objectives of each person. Classical Music, Jazz, Pop, Rock or other musical genres can be covered, it just depends on what the student intends to learn.
However, there are some basic guidelines that we will always take into account, regardless of which variant the student prefers:
– Technique (working on important movements when practicing the instrument)
– Theory (understand how music works)
– Practice (playing songs)
The practical component is usually the most important, but the importance of each one will depend on the student’s goals.
