About Jordi
Jordi graduated from Conservatori Superior de Música de Barcelona in Spain and after that he studied in France with Michel Moraguès (Orchestre National de France).
The Principal Flute Teacher
For the past 20 years he has been the Principal Flute Teacher in the National Conservatoire de Andorra, the small country between Spain and France. Here he taught several generations of passionate flutists from kids to intermediate levels, conservatory students and adults; beginners to professionals.
A performing musician
He is now living and working in Copenhagen. Jordi is a member of Andorra National Orchestra and Granollers Chamber Orchestra. He is still very active in the rest of Europe, performing solo with orchestras like Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra of Budapest, Chamber Orchestra Virtuosi di Praga, Czechoslovakian Chamber Orchestra, Camerata Amsterdam and Musici Brucellensis amongst others.
He has an extensive experience in chamber music, and is a member of several chamber music Ensembles both in Spain and Andorra.
Teaching
Jordi teaches flute to beginners (from 8 years old), intermediate level and to advanced pupils. His teaching is flexible and mainly based on the experience of making music; he has a sequenced program for each level, still all repertoire suggestions from the pupils are very welcome.
Playing the flute vs. singing
Jordi strongly believes that the flute shares a common technique with singing; all teaching has a vocal influence in both breathing, airstream, articulation and sound. We don’t “blow” into a tube, we “sing” with the flute!
His extensive experience from teaching so many years makes him a very patient and flexible teacher. The attitude is more important than the final result, which makes his pupils committed and inspired.
Genre
Jordi teaches classical flute.
Languages
Jordi can teach in Basic Danish, and also in English, French, Spanish and Catalan.
For beginners, consideration should be given to the purchase of a specific textbook that Jordi will specify.
