About Tomás
Tomás has a background playing improvised and experimental music, jazz, rock, indie, south american folklore and classical guitar with more than 10 years of experience teaching individual lessons as well as collective workshops. Tomás used to work in his private studio back in Chile and being invited several times to teach at some chilean universities such as IMUC or UAH, to name a few.
About the lessons
What is really important is to keep a creative environment where the student can learn by doing. Therefore, there’ll always be practical exercises in order to go through musical aspects/contents such as sound production on the instrument, scales, chords, flexibility, rhythm, etc. Tomás is open to agree with the students on the direction of this learning, taking their own music references and inspirations as a starting point. Lessons can be held in English and Spanish.
The first lesson
It depends on what is agreed upon with the student. It is best to spend the first few minutes talking about music, getting to know each other and agreeing on the pedagogical objectives and content.
